...from the path trailblazed by Quorthon into the core of one's own vision

Mountainside began ten years ago from one man's urge to give fitting tribute to mighty Quorthon, with especially the Nordland-albums being a vital inspiration. Along the road, a broader spectrum of influences has made it's way into Mountainside's music, but with heavy metal always being at the center of everything. Now this vision has crystallized in the single Root of the Mountain, which deals with a theme of finding one's own true voice, yet recognizing the work of pioneers.
